"Old swimming pool" Essen, Germany
In February 2018 the indoor pool in Altenessen, was re-opened following a thorough restoration. The pool, formerly known as the "old swimming pool" was built in 1930 and had already been restored once in the sixties. The building constructed in the Bauhaus Architectural style is under a preservation order. The indoor pool offers guests a 25 m swimming pool with the surrounding gallery having an outstanding view of the pool.

The old finishes including the leveling layers in the pool tank and it's surround were removed back to the concrete. Subsequently new levelling layers (screed, render) were installed. This was followed by waterproofing the pool tank and surround with AQUAFIN-RS300 and tiling with SOLOFLEX. All ceramic finishes were grouted with CRISTALLFUGE-HF.
